Timinsky-led Rangers off to fast start in girls golf

DUFUR — The Dufur High Rangers are off to a hot start in 2026. Senior Tygh Timinsky is a big reason for that success.
The Rangers recorded a win and a second-place finish in two recent tournaments.
Timinsky said her main goal is to finish her senior year at Dufur strong. “I want to leave my mark and hope to win my fourth district title this year.”
Timinsky shot a season-best to win a 33-player, nine-team tournament March 17 at The Dalles Country Club. The Rangers shot 425, one stroke behind the first place Pendleton High Buckaroos at 424.
“It felt good to start the season with such a good score,” said Timinsky.
The Rangers’ other team scorers were seniors Kaylee Wiles, Cynthia Medina and Makaila Collins.
The Rangers won their first event of the season March 18 at a six-team tournament at Birch Creek Golf Course in Pendleton. Timinsky shot 84 to earn medalist honors.
The Rangers’ new coach, Bill Timinsky, said: “I’m excited be the new head coach and we have a great team this year...I enjoy helping other kids who have a passion for the game.”
