Protestors on W. Sixth Street show off creative art to passing cars. About 500 people first gathered at W. 8th for speeches from Omar Perez, local Indivisble leaders, and — surprise! — Senator Ron Wyden, who dropped in briefly on his way to another meeting. The protest stretched for several blocks. Martin Gibson photo
Alongside about 40 other people, Emma Meagher and Ella Gunkel protest Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson and the “tyrannical” state government last Saturday on Goldendale’s courthouse lawn. According to Erin Hartford, chair of the Klickitat County Republican Party, key issues were Washington’s recently passed millionaires tax and Senate Bill 5974, which may empower an independent commission to decertify sheriffs. She was also collecting signatures for a ballot measure that would require proof of citizenship to vote. Nathan Wilson photo
counterprotesting pickup truck, with Angie Moore in the bed, makes a second pass by Goldendale’s “No Kings” rally on Columbus Avenue and Broadway Street last Saturday, March 28. About 80 turned out for the event, which drew many honks from passing cars, but also burnt diesel and expressive hand gestures, including some from those protesting Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson a few blocks away. Nathan Wilson photo
