We are hiring a Postsecondary Pathways Advisor to serve the Klickitat, Lyle and Wishram school districts. Full time, 240 days/year.
The person in this role is a vital member of the College and Career Pathways department. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of students, parents, and stakeholders through instruction or public presentation. The candidate will provide direct service in both classroom and individualized settings, delivering a variety of curriculum. They should demonstrate empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential and experience working with rural and remote communities.
General Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Postsecondary Readiness and Youth Workforce Managers, the Postsecondary Pathways Advisor plays a vital role in advancing student success by delivering College and Career Readiness Advising, providing pre-Employment Transition Services and serving as a critical data and impact link between assigned schools and the ESD. This position supports equitable access to postsecondary advising, planning, career exploration, and work-based learning experiences aligned with each school’s unique needs and the region’s workforce opportunities.Salary:
The full compensation range for this position is $63,148.33 - $76,837.82. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field OR High School Diploma and three years of direct student service and relevant experience.
- Two years' experience working with high school youth in education, workforce development, or career advising, preferably with special education students.
- Familiarity with a variety of postsecondary options, financial aid literacy, career pathways and career development strategies.
- Experience in facilitating workshops and meetings and adapting communication style to engage diverse groups of students, parents, and stakeholders.
