Options Study Survey — Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District is asking for public input on the future of the Hood River Pool.
Following a well-attended open house and community survey, three design concepts have been developed — ranging from renovation to full replacement with expanded features. An online survey provides information on the project background, pool concepts, a comparison of options — including cost — and an opportunity to share feedback. Residents are encouraged to review the options and complete a short online survey by Sept. 28.
CASA Fall Family Run — Columbia Gorge CASA’s second annual family-friendly event will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead in Hood River. The event serves as an opportunity for the community to support of CASA’s mission to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. The event features both a 5K and a 1-mile run/walk, beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is free for youth under 18, and awards will be given to the fastest male and female runners in the 5K. Watershed updates — The five local watershed councils are updating their Action Plans this year, through funding from OWEB. These updates will “incorporate new priorities based on climate resilience, fire risk, and water allocation challenges,” according to Wasco County Soil and Water District.
